Partaking in a cross training program can have several benefits such as higher performance, reducing the risk of over training, and injury prevention.
Riley is passionate about educating others about the importance of cross training for dancers and creating tools for educators to implement into their class.
Along with her BFA in dance, Riley also has a BS in kinesiology; as a part of her degree, she completed an internship with Hannah Andersen and the Department of Theatre and Dance at Wayne State University. Here she focused on creating a dance specific cross training program.
Riley seamlessly integrates her performance knowledge into robust training programs specifically designed for dancers. She is passionate about educating dancers about the importance of effectively cross training to enhance their movement.

Students in an advanced undergraduate modern class participated in a semester-long cross training program specifically tailored to enhance movement skill and integration, aid in injury prevention, and encourage cross training. The intention of the program was to teach dancers about different cross training methods, how to properly utilize equipment, and facilitate open conversation about the importance of cross training. By bringing cross training into the studio movement programming in cross training and technique overlapped.
